PDJ Series Electric Balancer

Product Introduction

The PDJ series balancer is a lightweight material handling device that operates on the parallelogram scaling principle combined with a screw lifting mechanism. It moves loads flexibly in three-dimensional space with precise positioning and effortless operation. The series includes 7 models ranging from PDJ125 (100kg) to PDJ1025 (1000kg), with R2=2500~3450mm and Hmax=3650~4500mm. It features a compact structure, reliable performance, low noise, and excellent flexibility and durability.

The PDJ series balancer is widely used for machine tool loading/unloading, inter-process handling, workpiece transfer on automatic lines and production lines, component assembly in factory workshops, as well as in stations, docks, warehouses, and various other settings. Both the PDJ225 and PDJ235 have a 200kg load capacity, but the latter offers a larger working range with R2=3450mm and a taller column with Hmax=4500mm, accommodating different workspace requirements.

Product Features

Parallelogram Scaling for Precise Positioning: Utilizing the parallelogram scaling principle, the load moves flexibly in three-dimensional space and remains stably positioned at any point upon release.

Screw Lifting with Safety Self-Locking: The screw lifting mechanism ensures smooth transmission and self-locking, preventing the load from slipping during power outages. Equipped with overload protection and limit protection devices.

Wide Model Range and Load Capacity: 7 models cover 100~1000kg with R2=2500~3450mm. The PDJ235 model offers a large working range of R2=3450mm, and Hmax=4500mm makes it suitable for high-ceiling factory buildings.

Compact Structure with Low Noise: The overall design is compact, reliable in operation, low in noise, and flexible and durable — ideal for workshops, warehouses, docks, and more.

Working Principle

The PDJ series balancer operates on the parallelogram scaling principle combined with screw lifting. The main structure consists of a column, a parallelogram arm assembly, a screw lifter, and a hook. The upper and lower horizontal arms of the parallelogram assembly are hinged to form a deformable quadrilateral — as the load moves horizontally, the parallelogram scales while keeping the hook traveling along a strictly vertical line. The screw lifter uses a motor-driven lead screw to rotate and drive the nut for lifting, providing smooth transmission and excellent self-locking.

During operation, the operator holds the handle and gently pushes or pulls to move the load horizontally; the column slewing covers the working area. Buttons control the screw lifter's forward and reverse rotation for lifting and lowering. The overload protector automatically cuts off motor power when the load exceeds the limit, and the limit protection device stops operation automatically at the upper and lower travel limits.

Structural Composition

Comprising the following core components:

Column and Slewing Mechanism: The steel column is fixed to a floor-mounted base, with a top slewing unit supporting arm rotation. Hmax=3650~4500mm — PDJ125/225 standard-height models, PDJ235 extended-height model.

Parallelogram Arm Assembly: A four-bar deformable quadrilateral structure with R1=400~830mm and R2=2500~3450mm, providing flexible level luffing.

Screw Lifter: Motor-driven lead screw and nut transmission with a lifting speed of 5.5~10.96m/min and excellent self-locking performance.

Safety Protection Devices: Overload protector and limit switches at travel limits provide dual protection.

Electrical Control System: Handle-mounted buttons provide inching control for forward and reverse rotation of the lifting motor — simple and intuitive operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are the external dimensions of PDJ125 and PDJ225 the same?

Yes, the PDJ125 (100kg) and PDJ225 (200kg) share identical external dimensions: R2=2500mm, Hmax=3650mm, H1=350mm, H2=1500mm. Both models use the same parallelogram arm and column structure — the only difference is the motor power of the screw lifter.

Q: What is the difference between the PDJ235 and PDJ225 models?

The PDJ235 features a larger R2 of 3450mm (vs. 2500mm on the PDJ225) and a higher Hmax of 4500mm, making it ideal for applications requiring a wider working range and taller factory buildings. It also offers a faster hoisting speed of 10.96m/min and a lower starting height of H1=150mm. The 200kg load capacity remains the same.

Q: Can the PDJ balancer be configured with variable frequency speed control?

Yes. The standard PDJ balancer operates at a fixed hoisting speed, but a variable frequency speed control solution can be customized to meet specific requirements. By using a frequency inverter to regulate motor speed, the hoisting speed becomes infinitely adjustable — ideal for precision assembly applications that demand fine speed control.

Q: Can the PDJ series balancer be used in explosion-proof environments?

The standard PDJ balancer is not suitable for explosion-proof environments. For use in areas with flammable or explosive gases, a customized explosion-proof balancer is required, equipped with an explosion-proof motor, explosion-proof electrical control box, and explosion-proof limit switch. The explosion protection class can be selected as ExdⅡBT4 or ExdⅡCT4 depending on the operating conditions.

Q: What is the maintenance interval for the screw hoist on the PDJ balancer?

We recommend greasing the screw and nut assembly once every quarter, keeping the screw surface clean to prevent metal chips from entering. Check screw wear and nut clearance every six months. Replace the gearbox lubricating oil once a year. Regular maintenance significantly extends the service life of the screw hoist.
