MHE Type Double Hook Gantry Crane
Product Introduction
The MHE Double-Hoist Gantry Crane (also known as MHE Double-Lifting-Point Gantry Crane, MHE Double-Hook Gantry Crane, or Double-Electric-Hoist Gantry Crane) is equipped with two electric hoists that can operate independently or in synchronization, enabling dual-lifting-point tandem hoisting operations. Total lifting capacity ranges from 10 to 32 tons (individual hoists: 5+5 to 16+16 tons), with spans of 12 to 31 meters, lifting heights of 6 to 30 meters, and a working environment of -20°C to +40°C. The dual-hoist configuration is particularly suited for hoisting long loads (such as precast beams, long pipe sections, and steel structure components), as the two hoists can be operated independently or in synchronized tandem.
The product is designed and manufactured in accordance with the JB/T 5663-2008 standard, with control options including an operator cab and wireless remote control.

- Main Girder Designed for Total Load: The main girder is engineered based on the actual maximum combined lifting weight, ensuring safety and reliability.
- Multiple Control Options: Operator cab + wireless remote control, offering dual-mode operation.
- Standardized Design: Delivery lead time of 15–20 days.
- Nationwide Supply: Available for customer pickup or arranged freight delivery, with a one-year warranty.
Working Principle
Two CD1/MD1 electric hoists are mounted on the same main girder, with each hoist independently equipped with a hoisting mechanism and trolley travel mechanism. The electrical control system supports two operating modes: (1) Independent mode — the two hoists are operated separately to lift different loads; (2) Synchronized mode — the two hoists run in tandem to jointly lift a single long, heavy load. In synchronized mode, a PLC coordinates the hoisting and travel speeds of both hoists to maintain synchronization. The crane travel mechanism moves the entire crane longitudinally along the ground crane rails, enabling material transport across different work areas.

Typical Applications
- Precast Beam Yards: Dual-point hoisting of precast beams, rebar cages, and formwork.
- Steel Fabrication Plants: Handling of long steel components and pipes.
- Equipment Manufacturing Workshops: Hoisting and transfer of oversized equipment components.
- Ports / Storage Yards: Loading and unloading of long cargo.
Selection Guide
Key Selection Criteria: For a dual-hoist gantry crane, two figures must be confirmed — the total lifting capacity (maximum weight of the load to be lifted) and the individual hoist capacity (tonnage rating of each hoist). For example, a total lifting capacity of 20 tons can be configured as 10+10 or 15+5.
Main Girder Confirmation: The main girder must be designed based on the actual maximum total lifting weight. A common mistake is using two 10-ton hoists on a main girder designed for only 10 tons, which poses a significant safety hazard.
Operating Instructions
Inspection: Ensure the crane rail is clear of obstructions, the wire rope is in good condition, and the brakes on both hoists are functioning properly.
Operation: Perform a no-load test run to confirm both single and synchronized modes operate correctly. During synchronized lifting, the load must be evenly distributed; overloading or off-center loading is strictly prohibited. Operations should be halted in strong winds (above Beaufort scale 6).
Shutdown: Raise the hooks to the upper limit, then disconnect the power supply. Conduct periodic inspections on the hoist synchronous control system.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between a dual-hoist gantry crane and a standard single-hoist gantry crane?
A: A dual-hoist gantry crane is equipped with two electric hoists, enabling dual-point lifting for handling long or oversized loads. A standard single-hoist gantry crane has only one hoist, suitable for conventional individual loads. Dual-hoist lifting distributes the load more evenly and provides greater stability for long items.
Q: Which national standards does the MHE series dual-hoist gantry crane comply with?
A: It is designed in accordance with JB/T 5663-2008 for Electric Hoist Gantry Cranes. The main girder is designed per GB/T 3811 Crane Design Standard, safety protections comply with GB 6067 Safety Regulations for Lifting Appliances, and the dual-hoist synchronization control system follows relevant requirements of GB/T 3811.
Q: What are the advantages of Kelude Heavy Industry's dual-hoist gantry cranes?
A: Kelude Heavy Industry has extensive experience in dual-hoist synchronization control. The main girder is strictly designed according to the actual total lifting weight, eliminating the safety risk of undersized girders paired with oversized hoists. We offer customized configurations for equal or unequal hoist capacities and provide full-cycle service from site survey to after-sales support.
