MHL Single Girder Gantry Crane with Offset Trolley

Product Introduction

The MHL Single-Girder Offset Gantry Crane (also known as MHL Offset Single-Girder Gantry Crane, MHL Electric Hoist Offset Gantry Crane) is available in two structural configurations: L-type offset (MHL) and C-type offset (MHC). It is designed for use with CD1/MD1 electric hoists, with a lifting capacity of 1–20 tons, span of 12–35 meters, and lifting height of 6–30 meters. The hoist is offset to one side of the main girder, leaving ample clearance beneath the girder for smooth handling of long loads (such as steel sections, pipe piles, and bridge components) across the rail. This crane is widely used in open-air storage yards, warehouses, and steel fabrication shops.

The MHL model features an L-type leg offset structure, while the MHC model uses a C-type leg offset structure. Both can be custom-built to meet specific span, lifting height, and cantilever length requirements. Note: For higher capacities, the MDG single-main-girder hook gantry crane is recommended.

Product Features

  • Offset Structure: The hoist is offset to one side of the main girder, leaving an unobstructed area beneath the girder for smooth handling of long loads across the rail.
  • L-Type and C-Type Outriggers: MHL (L-type) and MHC (C-type) configurations cover a wide range of operating conditions.
  • Box Main Girder: Provides excellent stiffness and stable load support, ideal for medium-duty applications.
  • Custom Cantilever: Overhang lengths on both sides can be tailored to customer requirements.
  • Dual Hoist Option: Can be equipped with two electric hoists for independent or synchronized operation.
  • Multiple Control Options: Floor handle, operator cab, or wireless remote control.

Working Principle

The box main girder is supported by L-type or C-type outriggers, with the electric hoist suspended from an I-beam rail offset to one side of the girder. The crane travel mechanism moves longitudinally along ground rails, while the hoist traverses laterally along the main girder for lifting operations. The offset design positions the hoist's travel path away from the girder's centerline, creating generous clearance beneath the main girder so long loads can pass directly underneath for cross-rail handling. The hoisting mechanism is driven by a CD1 conical rotor motor, which drives the drum wire rope through three-stage deceleration to raise and lower the hook.

MHLStructural Drawing of Single-Girder Offset Gantry Crane

The above is a reference for the MHL single-girder offset hoist gantry crane configuration. Actual dimensions are determined by factors such as lifting capacity, span, and cantilever length.

Typical Applications

  • Open-air storage yards: Loading/unloading of long materials such as steel, pipes, and timber.
  • Warehouses: Handling and stacking of packaged goods.
  • Steel fabrication plants: Cross-bay transfer of long structural members.
  • Pipe pile / bridge girder plants: Rail-crossing hoisting of long materials.

Selection Guide

Small: 1~3t, span 12~20m, reference price ¥40,000~80,000.

Medium: 5~10t, span 20~30m, reference price ¥100,000~200,000.

Large: 10~20t, span 24~35m, reference price ¥200,000~400,000.

Note: Due to the offset hoist configuration, the crane runway rail foundation must be designed with increased load-bearing capacity. We recommend consulting our technical solution team for guidance.

Operating Instructions

Inspection: Ensure the runway is clear of obstructions, the wire rope is in good condition, and the brake is functioning properly.

Operation: Perform a trial lift of 200mm to confirm braking. Pay attention to the effects of offset loading; overloading is strictly prohibited.

Shutdown: Raise the hook to the upper limit, then cut off the power supply. Periodically inspect the weld seams on the offset-side main girder.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between the MHL (L-type offset) and MHC (C-type offset) models?

A: The MHL features an L-type leg with an L-shaped cross-section, offering a simple and cost-effective structure. The MHC features a C-type leg (also known as a basket-type leg) with a C-shaped cross-section, providing greater clearance under the main girder for wider loads to pass through. The choice depends on the dimensions of the loads being transferred and the site conditions.

Q: Which national standards does the MHL offset hoist gantry crane comply with?

A: It is designed and manufactured in accordance with JB/T 5663-2008 Electric Hoist Gantry Crane. The offset main girder structure is verified for torsional resistance per GB/T 3811 Crane Design Standard, and safety complies with GB 6067 Safety Regulations for Lifting Appliances.

Q: What are the advantages of Kelude Heavy Industry in manufacturing the MHL offset hoist gantry crane?

A: Kelude Heavy Industry has long supplied offset hoist gantry cranes to steel markets and pipe pile plants, with offset load stability and main girder torsional resistance extensively validated in practice. We offer both L-type and C-type structural options, customizable cantilever lengths, and 100% UT flaw detection on main girder weld seams.
